As I was reading devotions in “Our Daily Bread” this morning, it seems almost as if it is a special message directly from God at this particular time. Our hearts are heavy and prayers go out to those with the severe flooding occurring throughout the central Midwest right now. Many have lost their homes, businesses, farms, cattle, and a few have lost their lives, with the rising waters of creeks and rivers due to recent heavy snow melting, heavy rains, and the necessary releasing of water from dams.
From day to day, none of us know the troubles and challenges ahead of us, but we do know that God will never leave us nor forsake us. He is right here beside us if we just believe and trust in Him. God desires for us to put our trust and faith in Him, and to thank Him for all things. He has a purpose and a plan for our lives.
“The Lord himself goes before you and will be with you; he will never leave you nor forsake you. Do not be afraid; do not be discouraged.” Deuteronomy 31:8
For those of you impacted by the floods in some way, please remember God is with you, knows what you are going through, and is right there with you. You just need to believe and trust in Him.
May you each find a peace that only God, in His mighty way, is able to give you during this time.
Blessings and Prayers!
