I would like to share a story of something that happened at a book signing last weekend. An elderly lady came up to my table where I was signing books and I told her what my book was about. She indicated she really didn’t care much for poetry. I handed her my book and suggested perhaps she could read a couple of the poems to get a feel for my writing style. After several minutes, she looked up at me with tears in her eyes and quietly said she would buy a copy. I teared up as well. This was a precious moment to me that I’ll long remember. My goal in publishing this book is to give encouragement and inspiration to those who need these in their life, and I am always touched when someone reads a poem and can “feel” what I am trying to say through my writings.
I am thankful this year for family, friends, and the gift of writing to share God’s mercy, grace, and love for all of us.
I’m sharing here an excerpt from my poem, “Precious Moments.” My prayer is that we will all have precious moments with family and friends this Thanksgiving which we will remember long into the future. You can read the poem in its entirety in my book, “The Fingers of God,” which can be acquired here through my website or on-line through Amazon, Barnes & Noble, and other on-line websites.
I pray you each have had a wonderful and blessed Thanksgiving this year!
